I redid as sugggested, "started over", but this time with a different extract tool. This time it worked!
This time I used a chrome extension.
I am a beginner and teaching myself with an existing title on the web -- apologies my example confused, but I admit I am totally grabbling.... It is rather daunting but I have accomplished using a chrome extension. Entire world of epub creation is rather daunting but Sigil epub editor is super wonderful. Even for a beginner I can get the basics.
