Save to Folder was created to put files on a device that could only be treated as a folder. ( remember to eject or you will have an 'on Device' column every time you run Calibre)
My point is there IS a On Device column with ticks.

Putting your Library thru massive gyrations just to get First name Last name for filing, is just asking for when it fails (every author folder in the Library gets redone. all metadata backups get cued for rewrite OMG your poor disk)
