You can ignore all the previous posts from #4 , as they all refer to Fire tablets
"send to kindle" works for a restricted list of formats only, Amazon clearly state that AZW is NOT one of them.
calibre -> Kinlde via USB sends all of all variants of .MOBI, AZW.
You can send anything from calibre via USB, if correctly configured, but due to Amazon's definition of a book ( it's a book IFF amazon sold it to you), some transfers may appear on the kindle as personal documents.
A common mistake is to stare at the list of kindle "books - show all" list and complain that stuff is missing - because its filed under documents, not books.
