The Annals of the Heechee is Book 4. Yes, I can't recommend this one. Too much of Robinette Broadhead doing pointless angst, and one racist bit that a (only emphasised at this point) black character doesn't see as racist, to show what a post-racism society they're in now. Umm.. just no.
But mainly it's an awful lot of waffle for very little result. A shame.
Next up:
Flight of a Witch by Ellis Peters. #3 in the Felse family series. I've definitely read this one before in paper, but I'm re-reading the early ones, as I now have up to #13 in ebook.
