What did you use to extract the files? I went back a few years and located a set of 3 files called 2013-08-17_kobo_debian.part01.rar, 2013-08-17_kobo_debian.part02.rar, 2013-08-17_kobo_debian.part03.rar. I used 7Zip to open the first file and it showed a 7.8GB 2013-08-17_kobo_debian.img file. I dragged that file to my desktop and 7ZIP progressed through all 3 .rar files to generate the single .img file. If you try dragging and dropping from either the part02 or part03 file, it should generate an error. Please note that the 3 .rar files total about 640MB so the compression ratio is quite high.

Edit: attached a image showing all three files open in 7Zip with the multiarchive volume index visible.
