That appears to be happening to my ... uh ... liberated eReader books (but not Mobipocket). I swear, this was answered by Kovid in one of those million other threads ... but I haven't been able to find the reply, now that I need it!

Interestingly, if you convert the same HTML file to ePub, no centering.

I'll be watching this thread to see if someone else actually remembers what Kovid's previous answer was.
