Frankly, I'm pulling for Sony

though I don't like the 700. I'm getting a free Kindle from Amazon for having participated in the ABNA reviews. So today, I spend quite a bit of time looking at books on the Sony site versus the Amazon website. Amazon definitely has the edge with respect to the amount of content AND price. One particular book was 8 bucks cheaper on Amazon than on Sony (Miracles of Prato -- a new historical fiction release).

In addition, I had the Sony software (which is required for purchasing from the Sony Store) freeze up on me at least 10 times (no... that is not an exaggeration) where I had to go into the task manager and physically kill the program. I was downloading a lot of the free classics but even things like going from viewing 10 books per page to 100 books per page would cause the software to freeze up on me.

Until Sony gets serious about its software and content support, I'm afraid they don't stand a chance against the Kindle. But I've been wrong before (anyone want to buy some Bear Stearns stock?)
