My mistake: I have High Sierra on the MacBook. It got rolled back from an upgrade to Mojave when I found too much was broken. The new iMac is Catalina, but because of needing an older version of ADE and Kindle, I'll be using the MacBook for ebook management. (Besides, the MacBook is in the sitting room and the iMac is in the converted garage which is rather chilly in the winter. I'm so not looking forward to the colder weather as I'm currently working from home until January at the earliest.)

Which calibre will use to create the identifier:

Code:
uri:http://www.gutenberg.org/63130
Which expected and is correct.

From memory, older versions of calibre replaced the colon in URI and URL identifiers with the vertical bar. The current version will handle this, but, doesn't change it to a colon.

So, as I understand it, there is nothing wrong. It is working as designed.
Okay, so is there a difference between uri and url? And can I get it to display correctly in a custom column which currently displays URLs?

EDIT: Yes, I can. Saves me a headache.
