When I need an extra/different URLs I use an identifier rule. That lets me have a clickable link in the book details. And I sometime remove the URL identifier if I know it isn't going to be updated. Or occasionally for stories that I don't want to update. I also like the look of the identifiers in the details screen more than the URLs.

It is manual, but, if you have the rule setup, you can copy the URL for the story into the clipboard, then click the identifier button in the metadata editor. That will add the identifier if it matches one of the rules, or one of the identifiers for some of the metadata source plugins.
