It's difficult to apply screen protectors on large screens without getting bubbles, particularly when they have sunken screens. I know I had the same issue when I applied a screen protector to my Note.
An alternative would be to take the screen protector and the Max 2 Pro to a company that professionally applies them. That's exactly what one person did with his Max Carta. I believe that information is somewhere in the thread which I linked to. Not sure of the cost of such a service.
