the weird thing being all the books are showing on the home screen/working fine, and i don't have to take the card out and put it in again. the message won't go away until i either click on ok or use the x to close it at the top right of the pop up message.

Why are you powering off instead of sleep mode? It takes more power to power off/on then sleep mode. Unless you are powering off because you are putting it away for weeks or more.
