kindle support for "hidden" HTML element for section --> li?

I notice that the latest epub specification indicates support for the "hidden" HTML element in the navigation document -- see https://www.w3.org/publishing/epub3/...nav-def-hidden

I was wondering: if you use the HIDDEN HTML attribute for li or ol inside the navigation html document, do Kindle reading systems support it?

I'm guessing that e-ink kindles don't support HIDDEN in the navigation document. Does anyone know of a fallback technique to prevent individual TOC items from being displayed on e-inks?

Thanks.
