My solution: When adding books/fixing metadata on older ones, I add the @cleanup tag to them. (I have a virtual library set to display books with that tag, though that's not necessary.) I remove the tag when I'm finished everything else.

Yeah, this is what I've done for years, except in this order: I display all with that tag, highlight, edit bulk to remove the tag, then Polish to update the covers and add a title page, then copy to a single directory, then move to the main library.
All worked in many versions over the years, still works in the Portable 3.48 on the USB stick (been upgraded many times).
However, when I installed x64 v3.48, it does not use the settings from Portable (obviously), so yes, there is a 32 vs 64 bit difference, but it has nothing to do with the problem. If I had been using 32 bit on the local hard drive, I suspect the 64 bit version would have pulled up the settings I've been using.
The problem is I have forgotten what I had to do (if anything), to convince the portable version to work, as above. Because it was many years ago. I've pulled up all the settings I can remember to access, and can't figure out which one tells it to NOT refresh the search after a Bulk Metadata edit.
If I could just get this ONE thing fixed, I can live with having to re-enter all my email settings and bulk edit macros, even if it is a pain.
Does anyone know where that setting is?
