Amazon announces Halo - Health & wellness band and membership

Amazon announced its new Amazon Halo today.

Unlike the Apple Watch or Fitbit watches, the Amazon Halo is geared more towards lifestyle and health monitoring. It isn't a watch at all, and it doesn't have a screen. It is basically a wrist band with monitoring capability. You must use an app on a smartphone to get its readouts and info. But it will only cost $99.99 plus they offer an optional monthly subscription for advanced options at $3.99/month (but free for the first 6 months). It will be introduced at $64.99 by invitation only. Whereas Apple Watch and Fitbits are more geared toward sports, this is geared more towards health. It does not have Alexa control.

I'm still reading up on it. I'm intrigued by the health emphasis rather than sports emphasis, which would be catered more for old guys like me who want to monitor their health and don't care about how many steps they take or any of the sport related tracking. I might check it out later on after enough people have purchased them and reviews become available.
