@maxxal22: What @theducks said is right. Something has caused the database on the device to become corrupt. Until that is fixed, calibre cannot communicate properly with the device, and you will get problems on the device like you are seeing.

Unless you have a recent backup the database, the solution is to sign out Kobo account and then back in. This will create a new database, download the details for any purchased books from Kobo and import the sideloaded books that are on the device. Unfortunately, you will lose the reading status and any annotations for the sideloaded books.

Sometimes the above is not enough and you will need to do a factory reset to get things working again. And sometimes, restarting the device will allow it to fix the database. But, the error you are seeing usually happens when the database is beyond fixing.
