The other difference I can see is the menu at the top right of the list. The Author list doesn't have it. I assume Kobo left it off because there isn't anything specific to the Authors list. They don't have a cover view or anything like that. I've actually commented to Kobo about that as I feel that if the "Manage books" and "Manage downloads" menu items are on the Series tab, they should also be on the Authors tab.
There is room for the page number on that line. Probably immediately to the left of the menu. It is about the only place it can go and be fairly consistent. But, there is some thing about it that I just don't like. Maybe that it would be mixing menu items with changing information on the same line.

do you know the reason why collections doesn't have sort by recent? i know books and authors consistently have done so, i'm not sure if series can be sorted by recent because i don't use it.
