Fahrenheit 451 (movie) used a flamethrower to keep the pages burning.
I don't remember having any high kaolin glossy magazines in my collection so I suspect that we would not have any issues with the paper burning.

And yes, I did burn books once in high school after we read Fahrenheit 451 in class. AFAIR, the main issue we found was that a book has a poor structure to support burning. Fanning the pages or crumpling them did make burning easier.
