I do agree that there's room to let the page number persist on the screen. Instead of the floating black box with white numbers, they could have black numbers with no box between the books and the buttons.

I do think the page number should be shown. Do we need to be able to type in a page number? Not really since it's easy enough to go to that page with the slider.
