May I assume that whatever Amazon does later on, doesn't affect image quality, i.e. they do not further compress images? This is very important to me - I bought one graphic novel on Amazon, and the compression artifacts are pretty bad. So bad that IMO the book should be revised.
FYI, I validate my epubs, and use Kindle Previewer 3, and upload the mobi to my Android phone for inspection. I plan to test the final version on a friend's iphone and a Kindle reader before uploading to Amazon.
