We tend to not buy new stuff unless the old stuff wears out. We drive cars for years, I'm closing in on 15 years with my Vibe, but it only has 65k miles, and has a Toyota drive train.
Our microwave is 25 years old, as is the garbage disposer. The stove and fridge were replaced when they were about 18 years old, and the door fell off the stove.
I like gadgets, and usually get a new iPad every 2-3 years. My iPhone is a 7+, Hubby is using a 6. We got him a new Paperwhite during the last sale, but only because he wanted to give his Paperwhite 2 to our old grandson.
