I was just thinking that with the number of people not understanding the message from Calibre on newer firmware, maybe the message could be changed to be easier for someone inexperienced to better understand it and iIncluding a link to the sticky thread (your idea) that says if the firmware and Calibre are compatible without waiting or a new version of Calibre.
