It took me a while to figure out what the steampunk genre is. The few that I've read seem to be rather boneheaded with respect to logic and technical stuff. My favorite dopey one was a post apocalyptic story where they had humanoid robots from the pre-apocalyptic days which they only vaguely understood how to use. The robots had steam occasionally escaping from their joints and whatnot. Rather a bit too literal on the steam part of steampunk I guess.
