@NightStar76: All the Kobo devices share the same firmware. The only differences are related to the hardware. If there is a bug on one, it will be on the others as well.
For the problem you are seeing, have you tested the database? If it is corrupt, that at least gives a reason for the sync failure. But, you should be seeing other problems, such as the loss of reading status, or books being reimported. If the database is being corrupted frequently, it could be a failing SD card in the device. In the Clara HD, this can be replaced and a new image applied.
You could also turn logging on and see if there is anything obvious in the logs. There might be an error showing why it is failing.
Also, what is actually happening? Are new books not downloading? Or is it the reading status?
