Probably for the same reasons I come here. I like to see if there is news of any new firmware or any reports of glitches. And if anybody asks basic newbie questions that I might be able to answer, I'll try to do that.

This makes no sense. The firmware updates come automatically to the devices, there is no need to look for them if you run stock.
Those of us who patch might/will have enabled automatic firmware updates and have the need to look here.
However wanting to help is always a good reason.
