It is just a guess on my part of the cause of the problem. I know very little about how Japanese books are handled on the Kindle platform. I only know about the existence of the GESW word boundary table from my research on Kindle e-book formats.

If I am correct and the lack of this table in books not supplied by Amazon is the cause of the problem then I know of no fix. I have never come across any software that could either create or read this table.
If something else if causing the problem perhaps there is a workaround. Hopefully a Japanese Kindle user will weigh in on this.
