I've put more Facebook friends on hold, and stopped following so many, I've lost count.
I'm on there to see pics of the grandkids, keep touch with some church info, see info from the son who lives in on the other side of the world. I follow a few collector groups for Heisey Glass, and Hall China, etc.
I've no expectation of justice, reason, or dialog, from Facebook. I am sorrowed over the views of some people I'd have thought differently of, and that those "opinions" are trotted out so readily on such a platform. I'm even more dismayed when "reasonable" people screech and whinge over the latest conspiracy theories, and how many people complain about how Social Media handles various posts.
We have one family member who shares constantly to Facebook from Twitter. The vitriol is astonishing. The nastiness defies description. That a 66 year old "educated" woman sees nothing wrong in this makes me sad. We have rarely agreed on politics or financial matters, but the views she espouses now are mind boggling. Most of the family have stopped reading her posts and no longer reply to her. It is frightening. She has taken paranoia to a new level.
