I read ebooks on my Blackberry using Mobipocket Reader software for mobi ebooks and eReader for ereader type ebooks. I have a micro-SD card inserted into my blackberry and the ebooks are stored there.

Each of these softwares have a desktop equivalent that assists with transferring DRM ebooks to the blackberry's SD card. If the ebooks are non-DRM, you can copy them directly to the SD card via USB to the blackberry.

PDF files cannot be read from the SD card directly unless you use software like Documents to Go or RepliGo Reader. However, if you email the PDFs to yourself, the blackberry has a PDF viewer that allows you to see the PDF somewhat.

I haven't figured out a way to view HTML files/ebooks. Yes, the blackberry has a browser but I haven't figured out a way for it to view HTML files from the SD card directly.

Reading mobi and ereader ebooks from the Blackberry have been very effective for me and has allowed me to take my time in deciding whether I want a dedicated ebook reader or not or wait for a future ebook reader that may better satisfy my needs.
