Well if you want to make entire paragraphs bold, might be a better idea to just use the heading style. As for the problem, what is it the kobo does not like? If a paragraph is marked as bold, then setting the bold style on the paragraph, is the correct thing to do. Is it the 600 it objects to? If so I can change that to the word bold, but I am not willing to make the markup worse to support a bug on the Kobo.
