It's not really necessary to search for the book manually - just copy the smile link to your browser, change "smile" to "www", and it should take you right to the book.
Yeah, it's a teeny bit more painful than just clicking, but not nearly as bad as having to search.
It's similar to what I do, going the other way, changing non-smile links to smile links, since I appreciate getting Amazon to donate to a charity I picked. (Not nearly as eclectic as some of other folks' charities, just UCLA, but still nice to have a bit of a donation going to them...and I do buy more books than I should
