Yep, you can then exit Koreader in a few seconds using Exit menu, and you can as quickly enter Koreader from Kobo's native reader (Nickel) using Koreader's icon.

KOReader PDF Review (Kobo Aura One) from 2017, the newer 2019/'20 versions are even better.
