Jonathan Janz I also enjoyed. Children of the Dark was a fast moving rollercoaster that I recommend. Though the main character came of as a bit of a Mary Sue. He always seemed to say the correct thing and came off as wiser than his years and more honest than most real people would be.

I can recommend this Jonathan Janz novella that I just finished reading: Witching Hour Theatre. This is my first encounter with Janz - thanks to your head's up, I believe, on a few posts back - and I look forward to reading more by this writer.
