if the browser connect works, then it must be a cc issue
if browser connect does not work then it is NOT a CC issue and is something to do with network settings in the Mac, assuming that your phone still connect to internet ok for other things.

Yep. If I recall correctly, someone else posted a similar problem a few months back and it turned out that the phone was actually on a different network than the calibre machine, but not being able to connect via browser says it's calibre. Heck, could be something as simple as not starting the content server. If you don't have it set up to autostart it's pretty easy to forget to start it.
