If it doesn't switch to the diagnostic mode after connecting the usb-cable, you need to open it and solder to the serial port. No software method of debricking, unfortunately.
(Assuming that it is not visible from computer as usb-drive).
Ok, well, thank you for the help anyway. I’m really not sure what my Kindle is called then, as it has a touch screen and has the model number on the back of WP63GW, not the ones that you mentioned in your post. The soldering thing is not in my area of expertise, so I assume that means it’s the end of my Kindle. Will have to see if I can get another one, seeing that this one is out of warranty.
