Not having owned an ereader with a recessed display since the Aura H2O, I had the same thought initially. However, it turns out not to be an issue at all for me. It's only recessed about 1mm and is barely noticeable, if at all. Have you seen one?

I have to say that smaller ereaders aren't necessarily better to me. My 2015 Glowlight Plus is taller and wider than my Clara, but the larger bezels make it more comfortable for me to hold.

My Nook friends love the wide bezel for that very reason. Also, it is easier to grip for some people suffering with arthritis.
