Yea, just more PR on the subject... I think it's interesting and good.
I'm one of those running 5.12.4 on a PW3 with no issues. I'm fine staying here, but I don't like companies dumping upgrades to popular products, especially if they were still selling them as the default device just a little over two years ago!
EOL should be based on when they last offered the product...
