That's the part you shouldn't hold your breath for. That sort of nonsense is never as easy as it seems--at least for me.

All of that is predicable from the series update implementation. Other fun effect: Book in series
isn't in list. List is updated, that book has series removed.
Personally, I don't know why this series update feature even exists. It's not very well integrated and, as you found, has severe limitations that I don't see getting fixed in RL.
Plus, what's the point? If you have both list and series, it's redundant. I've never looked at before today.
