I'm pleasantly surprised how well the case is looking after nearly a year of use, there is no cracking or damage otherwise to the spine (I've only got 4 claw holes in the back when a cat attacked it!).
There was a lot of trepidation when I bought the case - it was during the fiasco of "....is it leather or not?" ...
