interesting, that is a test I was thinging of also, so saves me bothering !
i suspect that once a google licence has activated on a tablet, a secure note of that is retained, even if the app is uninstalled, and that's a factor in this troubleshooting
what exactly does the drm error message say and where is it coming from, and exactly when doe it occur
i do wonder if you have to be trying to open a kindle format e.g. mobi, as Fires are know to have " false positives" with amazon's own drm
