Just in case you check this thread first:
What you have looks very much like an issue with the KoboTouchExtended driver. If you have not updated to 3.2.13 (it should have been an automatic notification), do so. You may also want to try converting to kepub using kepubify to see if the problem persists.

Apologies, it was not a double posting on purpose (actually they were in series). I thought to find help first in the Kobo forum, but I quickly understood that I had made a mistake, it must have been a Calibre issue and I moved to the Calibre forum (I wrote so in my previous post in that forum).
On this forum, just the suggestions from PeterP spurred me to make some more investigations and another try and it now seems that the problem has been solved with the current versions. The previous conversion were made with older versions, a couple of months ago, I thought it was not so long ago.
Again apologies, I did not want to cause any trouble. And thanks for the support.
