As to why they'd drop replaceable batteries
1) less chance for the consumer to foul something up
2) cheaper to do overall, they wont need to have CS teach people how to replace the battery, they wont be pressured into carrying the battery that fits into the specific devices, etc
3) arguably a better feeling device since the casing will be more solidly together (yes this is subjective in terms of how effective it is, but the feel of ereaders is a part of the reviews for better or worse).
I'll note you've still not actually backed up your claims, nor refuted any of mine. Until you do, I'll be returning the treatment.
