I think there's one sentence to describe how i feel about the iliad:

I'm waiting for university lectures to start again so i can spend my 1.5h every day commuting with my iliad.

Actually i hoped that the SDK is available in september so i can get a news fetcher, but i guess manybooks offers enough books to read until then. (that's the purpose wlan would have for me) (and shakespeare is really great reading, i'm beginning to understand)

It will be really interesting to see how well the iliad works with lecture scripts. Most are prepared for A4 printing, but typesetted with LaTeX. That means i will try to bug my profs into releasing a A5 version or giving me the LaTeX source.

Working annotations on scripts would be great, too.

Other things... Note-taking works quite well when rotating it 180° for me, so it was possible for me to make some small sketches in cases i wanted to communicate something to someone else online. (but it's quite annoying. drawing, removing the sd card, putting it in the card reader, uploading it to my server, linking to the url - this might be improved by implementing a push mechanism for the iliad what shouldn't be a problem with a working SDK)

And *maybe* we can use the USB one day for more things then mass storage and 5v power supply. Then it's getting really interesting.

Anyway, i love my iliad already now. And even more for the possibilities it will offer in the future.

Dodge this, Sony reader.
