Tried using Calibre to delete the file from the Kindle, but same result - old file reappears rather than the new one.
Making a slight change to the file name works. Thanks for that.
Still wondering though why I need to do this. It would seem the old file is apparently being retained in the Kindle presumably using up storage space.
