Under Configure book reader => Scrolling behavior, there are three options under Control how scrolling works in paged mode. The options default to page so probably you want to set all of them to screen fulls.

However this will not affect your statement that you are seeing half pages. If you are seeing page 1, page 2 and scrolling shows page 2, page 3 this setting should help.
