Yes but that is the third time they printed the series with non-descript generic covers in lieu of art.
I didn't like most of Sweet's artwork (holy cow he made Lord of Chaos look like a harlequin romance! and boy he doesn't know what a Trolloc is) but it is way better than what we have now.
I liked the new covers that were commissioned for the trade paperbacks (which I think might be mostly out of print now). And the artwork that was going to replace it looked even better. I think it is a shame that the newer artwork wasn't better received but the trade paperbacks minimized the size of the artwork and it also didn't help that the Eye of the World's cover looked like you were buying a Patrick O'Brian book instead of an epic fantasy.
Even though I'm not a fan of the Sweet covers, funny enough his unfinished cover for A Memory of Light is my all time favorite Wheel of Time and it is a shame that it wasn't used.
I think the worst fantasy covers are seen are from Kate Elliott's series Crown of Stars. Especially Prince of Dogs. Wow!
I think the worst thing about the Eddings covers is that they scream indie. You wouldn't think that they were bestsellers back in the day.
