As far as we know the new DRM remains unbroken, but the breaking of the previous DRM means that anyone who previously purchased and downloaded those books is now able to remove the DRM from them if they are so inclined. Amazon's apparent new strategy of rolling DRM changes won't prevent that sort of behavior.

Perhaps that is unacceptable to Pearson. On the other hand they should know that there is no such thing as unbreakable DRM.

I am curious to see what happens next.
