Nothing in LC looks wrong to me from the partial debug log you posted. This does not appear to be the whole debug log, since your original post's "AttributeError: 'list' object has no attribute 'decode'" does not appear.
Please do not delete any lines from the debug log. I need it all, top to bottom.
BTW, it looks like you are using a plugin that is not working any longer: "bbcgf_ebook". I've never heard of that plugin, but you might want to uninstall it or update it so it works in Calibre 4.16.
