Half of the "Other" tab is not site related. Changing it would obscure that fact.
And for the record, original creator of this plugin stopped maintaining them some years ago. I have been maintaining and extending it since as it is a plugin I use frequently. But, if someone else wants to do some work on it, I am very happy for them do so.

I'm not going to concern myself anymore with Calibre reader's page counts. Koreader on my Kobo dynamically adjusts page count based on font size, line spacing, etc. That is my primary reader, and by chance, I happened to settle on a font size that happens to come out close to the print editions, so I never thought much about it. Nor would I care much but I do like knowing when I start a book approximately how large it is.
It was Calibre reader being consistently so far off that I finally decided to figure out what was up with it, leading me here.
If Calibre reader worked as the Kobo, rather than a baked in formula, I never would have questioned it.
On the plus side, this plugin really is nice to have, unexpectedly, so the trail of confusion ended in a benefit
