A couple more thoughts:

Has anyone had a chance to confirm that if you have Kindle for PC/Mac 1.28 and have disabled KFX downloads, you can DeDRM the older formats with the latest tools?

As for books directly from E-ink Kindles, I think darryl had success using Apprentice Sakuya's code (just prior to 6.8.0's release) with a KFX book downloaded to an Oasis, correct? I was able to successfully use 6.8 on an old KFX download to my Oasis. But after removing, re-downloading, and re-importing a fresh copy of the same book today, DRM remains. So it seems like the latest Kindle firmware is doing the same thing as Kindle for PC/Mac 1.27 and later.
