Wow I was just doing a search and didn't realize you could do in Linux with ImageMagick.
Just type "convert *.jpg out.pdf"
Works pretty well and there are certainly lots of parameters to play with sharpen or dither or what not. Would be interested to know if there are any ImageMagick wizards out there.
