FWIW: it isn't a copyright violation to post a link to an identical-to-shipped un-hacked version of an APK. If it hasn't been hacked then running it will require the same license check that the play store version applies.
On the other hand, if the APK has been hacked so that it doesn't require a license check then there is a clear violation. The person posting it is certainly breaking the US DCMA law, and as far as I can tell EU copyright regulations. It is also sufficient reason for MobileRead mods to ban the person. I haven't checked to see if this is what is happening now.
